How to secure a wine bottle to a wood Lathe?

So I'm trying to work with wine bottles on a wood lathe. I'm having trouble coming up with a device that will hold the bottle firmly and continue to attach to the lathe. I've cut the bottles with a Wet Saw Tile, what I'm trying to do is use the action of turning the wheel to assist in the efficiency and speed of sanding the edges down. On the roll of the wood is, do you think will be enough to hold the bottle cut the bottom?

use a soft wood like pine and a return to a wooden plate for a friction fit ... you can also mount an empty plate for lathes ... you'd do a search to see how this is done ...
