Home shows are your chance to make yourself at home

Sponsored by the Welcoming comfortable with Builders Association of Greater Southwestern Illinois, the show will boast more than 200 booths filled with the latest homewards improvement projects and services. Admission is $5, but two-for-one coupons are readily available in the News-Democrat, many extent businesses or at www.hbaswil.org.

If you decide on a project that involves wood, you'll want to visit The Woodworking Show Friday through Sunday at the Gateway Center in Collinsville. There you'll find a as much as possible array of tools and products along with experts to give you the tips you need to make the project go smoothly.

Metro-East Home Show

With products from air conditioning to window treatments, the home advance show will be another one-stop winter wonderland of remodeling ideas.

"This is definitely the most economical and exciting way to learn everything about improving and updating your abode," said Riedle, the show's chairman.

Dozens of area companies will be trying to tempt you with products ranging from new kitchens, domestic theaters and fireplaces to carpeting, garages and windows. Have a problem? There's waterproofing, security systems and annoyance control experts, too.
