My chimney has a clay tile liner. Now I put a wood stove insert in, do I need a flue liner for it?

My house is built in a fireplace. The previous owner directly burn wood in fieplace only mesh nets to cover the fire. Now, I just put a wood burning fireplace insert stove in there. I wonder if I have to change or modify anything.

The only question we must ask is if you remove the throttle valve? My parents had an insertion and removed the gate of the fireplace - do not want to fall and closed with no access to it by inserting in the place. If you're really worried, hire a chimney inspector. They are fairly cheap - $ 100 or less. I am sure that damper is partially removed so it does not close on you. Good luck and enjoy your fireplace in winter.
