Redesigned Super Duty trucks coming soon

Last year, Ford's paramount-selling F-150 light-duty pickup came to market with a complete redesign, bringing lots of new features and innovations.

Now it's the Wonderful Duty's turn.

Ford will begin rolling the redesigned heavy-duty pickup extraction into dealerships early next year as a 2011 model, complete with a new 6.7-liter Power Mark V-8 diesel-engine option.

Also new is a 6.2-liter V-8 gasoline engine, which offers “significantly improved” horsepower and torque, as well as haler fuel economy, Ford says.

Visitors to the 2009 San Antonio International Auto & Stuff Show next week at the Convention Center will be able to see the new Super Duty models on display there.

The diesel comes with a new six-celerity automatic transmission that Ford says is designed to deliver low-end pulling power more efficiently, a indigence when carrying or towing heavy loads.

Texas is the biggest market for the Super Duty, a carrier designed to pull those big horse trailers that Lone Star State ranchers are so fond of.
