how do I get rid of cedar siding bleeding stains?

I have cedar siding on my house. just today I noticed a few spots are brown. I think it's seeping cedar. My siding is painted. question is how do I stop permanently? I've been sprayed with a hose and all goes well, but then a new layer to replace it. It will stop time?

Do you have bad news. To remedy this you must use an oil primer, not KILZ. The oil will stop bleeding through, then you can repaint without worries.

Fact that literally hundreds of times.

Details: Obsidian Halfway point School in Redmond is getting a new roof and siding, part of the $110 million bond package approved by voters in 2008.

Doug Snyder, the department's chief operations officer, said $470,000 is being spent to replace the school's roof as well as dismiss old and rotten cedar siding. New metal siding will go up in its place. The rest of the building will be painted in muted tan and brown earth tones to trial the new siding.

Snyder said the district originally only wanted to reseal the roof — which dates to the university's construction in the mid-1980s — but discovered it would be less expensive to replace it entirely.

“The roof (contractor) said we could have a new roof for the cost of the coating and go from a 10-year promise to a 20-year warranty, so it was a no-brainer,” Snyder said.
