Possible to change garage door remote freqency on a 1/2 hp Liftmaster garage door opener?

We just bought a house in foreclosure has a 1 / 2 hp Liftmaster garage door opening. We did not get any garage door openers at closing. We will buy replacements, but I wondered if the former owners, for whatever reason, are able to access our garage yet? We had the locks re-introduced, but our concern is our property inside the garage. Thank you!
