Tree farm equipment auction a success; offers sought on buying land

Although many of the attendees were looking for a haggle on everything from farm equipment and machinery to office furnishings, Haessly said others wanted to know about the tree grange property. There was a high level of interest in land available at the former Ohio Department of Natural Resources tree acreage in Reno during a recent equipment auction but no official offers have been made. It was a nice turnout," said Jack Haessly, chairman of the ODNR Tree Holding Task Force charged with developing a plan to sell the 95-acre property along Ohio 7. "We had justified under 500 bidders and the sale brought in nearly $168,000 for the Division of Forestry. ODNR Forestry Chief Bob Boyle, who also attended the conclusion, agreed. There were a lot of interested people," he said. "Just about everything we had for sale was sold," he said.
