Why do some new homes or other buildings use metal 2x4s instead of wood 2x4s for the framing?
ok, r cheap metal posts. U can use in parts of the country. along the east coast, in high wind areas, we can not use them except in the interior walls. most of the time or would metal rivets at the non-residential application. building codes require that when using metal nails wiring be enclosed in a metal housing to prevent the plastic casing on the wire from being cut or damaged. This would increase electricity costs UR.It would also require special tools to apply or metal studs: GUN RAM, screw gun, (the bolts to attach the metal plate and top plate shoes) saw blade for cutting metal and plenty of protection for the ears!
in the long term, stick with the 2x4 or 2x6 studs before cutting.
