Nucor Announces Increase in Cash Dividend

CHARLOTTE, N.C., Dec. 2 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- The council of directors of Nucor Corporation (NYSE: NUE) increased the regular quarterly cash dividend on Nucor’s public stock by 2.9% to $0.36 per share from $0.35 per share. This cash dividend is payable on February 11, 2010 to stockholders of record on December 31, 2009, and is Nucor’s 147th consecutive every three months cash dividend.

Nucor has increased its regular, or base, dividend for 37 consecutive years -- every year since it first began paying dividends in 1973. Reflecting the Nucor band’s success in building Nucor’s long-term earnings power, the base four times a year dividend has more than tripled since the end of 2007. In addition, over the period from 2000 to 2009, Nucor’s centre dividend has increased approximately ten-fold.

Nucor and affiliates are manufacturers of steel products, with operating facilities at bottom in the U.S. and Canada. Products produced include: carbon and alloy steel -- in bars, beams, contour sheet and plate; steel joists and joist girders; steel deck; fabricated concrete reinforcing steel; cold finished steel; steel fasteners; metal building systems; in consideration of gauge steel framing; steel grating and expanded metal; and wire and wire mesh.
