Can u get paid to get rid of old wood & other materials when re-habbing a house?
... I heard that they are places that come to your house and collect the old materials such as wood, plaster, etc., and give u cash for it. I guess that recycle materials.
I renovate my house and wanted to know where I can contact people or companies that do this.

I live in California, and there demolition companies make their living by recycling old building materials. Although much of it may end up in the garbage, use of wood in general, going to Mexico. You probably have to pay a demolition company, and they can not do small jobs.
If you have equipment or facilities are in good condition, but just not right for your home restored, you might consider donating to your local Habitat for Humanity Restore. They sell for pennies on the dollar to raise funds for construction projects, and get a tax deduction.
