Motorcycle crash kills woman; partner arrested

EL PASO -- A 50-year-old miss killed in a motorcycle crash Thursday had survived another motorcycle crash four years earlier, according to El Paso Times archives.

Ida Reyes was a voyager in both crashes. Her partner, Henry Martin Kelly, 44, was the driver both times.

Kelly escaped the most latest crash unharmed, but he was arrested on suspicion of intoxicated manslaughter.

County records show he remained jailed Friday in lieu of $50,000 tie.

Reyes' family declined to comment. Kelly's family could not be reached for comment.

The collision occurred on U.S. 54 South almost the Cassidy Gate of Fort Bliss just after 3:40 p.m. Thursday.

Police said Kelly clipped the back of a 2004 Chevrolet Cavalier with his red 1999 Honda motorcycle. As a sequel, Reyes was thrown off the back of the motorcycle and landed on the right lane of the roadway. She was then struck by a 1998 Mercury Marquis.

In a supervise affidavit, police said witnesses told them that Kelly continued driving
